Open Houses

The City of Tampa Parks & Recreation Department is working to reimagine our parks and recreation services through a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The plan is currently in its final phase of development, and a draft is now available for community review. We invite you to attend one of the four open houses listed below to review the findings and recommendations and provide any feedback you may have. In case you can’t make it, the Draft Master Plan document will be available on the project website.

Virtual Open House

As part of the City of Tampa Parks & Recreation Department’s efforts to reimagine our parks, recreation programs, and department services, the City utilized a Virtual Open House to present initial findings obtain public input. The Virtual Open House and the project materials are still available for viewing.

To access, click the “Virtual Open House” button below. Once in the Virtual Open House, you can watch a short welcome video, view information boards, and participate in a series of engagement exercises to provide your input.

The Virtual Open House can be accessed at any time, so feel free to share this link with your friends and neighbors and help establish Your Vision for Our Tomorrow!

In addition to the Virtual Open House, the City also held a series of Virtual Community Meetings in an effort to obtain additional public feedback.

All meetings were open to the public, and were held via Zoom. A video of the presentation can be viewed using the links to the meeting pages on the right, and PDFs of the presentation are available for download.

Gold Medal Finalist

With your input we can continue to push the envelope forward and together Transform Tampa’s Tomorrow.

Tampa Parks and Recreation was recently nominated for the 4th time as a finalist for the 2021 National Gold Medal Awards for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management. Agencies are judged on their ability to address the needs of those they serve through the collective energies of community members, staff members and elected officials.

Tampa Parks & Recreation joins three other finalists in their class that will compete for Grand Plaque honor which will be awarded in September.
